A Virginia<\/a> Uber driver is now in police custody for chasing down a car that\u00a0rear-ended him —\u00a0without letting his two passengers out of the vehicle —\u00a0on Monday night.<\/span><\/p>\n

Olufemi S. Olomola, 38,\u00a0was charged with two counts of abduction, reckless driving\u00a0and\u00a0felony hit-and-run, Q13 Fox\u00a0reported<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Richmond Police reportedly made the arrest following the incident.<\/span><\/p>\n

John Murray and his wife, Tameka Swann, called an Uber to take them out to dinner on their date night. After picking them up and\u00a0driving several blocks, Olomola was rear-ended, and the offending driver took off.<\/span><\/p>\n

Olomola sped up and ran multiple red lights in an attempt to catch the unidentified motorist, driving erratically the whole way, according to Murray.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI thought we were just going to pull over and they would exchange information, but the other driver pulled around us and took off,\u201d he said. \u201cI had no idea [Olomola] was about to go ‘Fast and Furious’ on us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Murray decided to stream\u00a0the encounter on Facebook Live. At one point, Olomola handed\u00a0his phone to Swann to speak with\u00a0a 911 dispatcher and began to accelerate.<\/span><\/p>\n

The couple say they continually asked Olomola to stop and let them out, but he seemed\u00a0focused on catching the other driver.<\/span><\/p>\n

Halfway through the drive, Olomola\u00a0was T-boned by another automobile. Instead of stopping to exchange information, he continued to chase the first\u00a0driver.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 911 operator can be heard telling him to stop, but he kept going,\u00a0according to Q13 Fox.<\/span><\/p>\n

Swann told a local CBS affiliate she was scared for her life and could only think of her children.<\/span><\/p>\n

The driver eventually stopped and let the couple out.<\/span><\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Uber commented on the fiasco to WTVR and said an investigation is underway. They also said Olomola’s Uber access has been removed.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis driver\u2019s behavior is deeply concerning and his access to the app has been removed,” the spokesperson said<\/a>.\u00a0“We have been in contact with the rider and stand ready to support law enforcement on their investigation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
