Obi Cubana; EFCC boss, Abdulraheed Bawa and DSS DG’s son, Abba Bichi<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A son of the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi, Abba, has lent his weight behind the detained Chairman of Cubana Group, Obi Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, saying not every wealthy person in the country is fraudulent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PUNCH<\/em> had earlier reported that the anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, detained Cubana on Monday for alleged money laundering and tax fraud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abba, a footballer and teenage son of the secret police boss, took to his verified Instagram account, abba__bichi, immediately after the detention of Cubana to declare his support for the businessman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the post, Abba uploaded a ravishing photo of a smiling Cubana and captioned it, \u201cA man of honour and dignity\u201d, adding that not every wealthy person is fraudulent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abba\u2019s post has attracted over 160 comments with some Instagram users accusing him of supporting \u201cyahoo boys\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A user, @nadiaibrahimismail, wrote, \u201c@abba__bichi you\u2019re not ashamed your father is the DG SSS, a responsible person you\u2019re here supporting yahoo boys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

abba__bichi fired back, \u201cGo and prove that okay, not everyone with money is into fraud, you idiots support politicians with money and find it hard to see any good Nigerian with money! Indeed you are an illiterate of the highest order.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another user, @bafanabee, tackled Abba, saying he shouldn\u2019t have declared support for Cubana but the DSS DG\u2019s son replied, \u201cIf my father is DSS (DG), so what?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was however not all knocks for Abba as some users also threw their weight behind him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c@abba__bichi sad. I just weep when I see some comments. It\u2019s painful to read,\u201d Isokenodigie stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abba then retorted, \u201c@isokenodigie they are politicians puppet that\u2019s why! Imagine a sensible person will choose a politician over a hardworking man! That\u2019s why Nigeria is messed up.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A top EFCC source told our correspondent that the Anambra-born club owner is still being quizzed at the headquarters of the EFCC at Jabi, Abuja, and has not yet been released as of the time of filing this report on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Efforts to reach EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, however, proved abortive as of press time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cubana became a social media sensation and the rave of the moment in July after the \u2018naira rain\u2019 at the burial of his mother in Oba, a town in the Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State. Several videos went viral that show celebrities, business people and politicians spray money indiscriminately during a concert held after the interment of the deceased. Scores of cows were also reportedly slaughtered at the event which many had described as ostentatious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
