A former ambassador to Switzerland, Uche Odogwu, has advised the youth to shun land racketeering, other forms of crime and embrace skills acquisition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Odogwu, son of late philanthropist, late Chief Sonny Odogwu stated this at graduation of 40 Asaba youths in skill acquisitions organised by a non-governmental organisation, Asaba Home-Diaspora Development Initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Odogwu said such training would empower the youth to become employable and employers of labour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He described labour as the greatest asset of all factors of production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe crime rate and land racketeering in Asaba are on the increase because most youths are jobless and not employable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA skilled mind is a developed nation; this skill acquisition should be all-inclusive. I urge all Asaba indigenes to support the programme to enable the state salvage our youths and make them wealth creators,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018\u2018At the end of the training, successful business and employment opportunities will be opened to the\u00a0 less-privileged youths, young adults and those who cannot afford such training.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
