Some of the policemen attached to the Lagos State Police Command have arrested five suspects in connection with the gang-clash that occurred at Aguda near Surulere between Sunday and Monday.

The Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Bala Elkana, said in a press statement on Monday that the suspects were arrested after a distress call was placed to the police.

“On April 22, at about 9.30a.m., the Aguda Police Station received a distress call that a group of youths from Ijesha and Aguda areas had engaged themselves in a free-for-all at the boundary between Ijesha and Aguda.

“Police Patrol teams from Ijesha and Aguda were promptly drafted to the scene. The teams brought the situation under control.

“Glasses of three cars were shattered with stones thrown by the hoodlums on each other.

“Five suspects that include: Lekan Abiose, 30, of No. 25, Adeola St., Itire; Ahmed Isiaka,37, of No. 47, Animashaun Ijeshatedo and Aro Rasaq, 28, of No. 40, Ronke St., Itire, all in Lagos State were arrested by the teams.

“Others arrested are Gideon Agwu,32, of No. 10, Alhaji Mukaila St., Iba, Okokomaiko and Temileyin Odulawo, 19, of No. 57, Sanya St., Aguda also in Lagos State.

Elkana added, “Preliminary investigation revealed that some members of the two rival groups fought at a get together organised by one Bukky and Baba Sunday on April 21 at Ijesha area.

“There, one Ijesha youth was allegedly injured.

“The injured youth was alleged to have mobilised his friends on a revenge mission to Aguda on Monday morning, which led to another fracas,” he said.

Elkana added that investigation was ongoing as the command had launched a manhunt for other fleeing suspects.

  1. We are experiencing over one hour of violence on a major road in Aguda, Surulere 2 . Figure between difference factions of area boys . The police intervened but with all the gun shots that could not stop the riot . Life and property is at risk ,Tax payers and land use payers are under seige from these area boys . This is a local government that has an assembley member and a house representative .

A populer street called Oladimeji has been taken over by area boys today the 22nd of April,2018

Who are the APC leaders in the area that are fuelling and using this area boys to damage property of tax payers ?

Why do we have area boys at all junctions of enitan street in Aguda and all around Aguda harrassing people doing deliveries or going about their honest work ?

Why have we voted APC in SURULERE 2 ,during the PDP tenure we did not have this violence in Suruelere 2

Pass this on until it gets to Tinubu and other APC leaders in Lagos. This must stop

    1. PDP brought all those gangs niggah to Lagos state / constituency ll, when they are looking for ways to hijack the state from APC during korò times. I believe those that follow Lagos politics can testify to that and since then we have been having different kind of issues of hoodlums using guns to threaning the innocent citizen. APC do not have any area boys or hoodlums working for them. If we did our investigation deeply the public will find out that you’re a PDP member and coming down here to lie against the party is unfair and unacceptable. People are not daft and won’t buy your lies. For you information PDP cannot rule in Lagos not to talk of surulere constituency ll and it won’t happen forever…. Tinubu is not daft like you and people won’t share this nonsense….

    2. Don’t put sentiment
What happened on Monday can happen anywhere and doesn’t mean they are being used by APC and the Assembly with the two sitting Council Boss are trying their best working tirelessly to ensure PEACE,
We are all Nigerians and shouldn’t been practicing politics in all we do

      1. I am not putting sentiments . I am just asking for security to be provided which is the responsibility of.the state governor
